Alfred francis
« on: Friday 22 December 23 10:37 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone.
I'm hoping you wonderful people can help me .
My great aunt was jennie Francis born 1895 southwark London.
She died in netherne mental institution November 8 1941 after being committed twice to there. Second time was about 1932.
Her father was alfred Francis 1863 southwark London and mother annie marsh 1863. Annie was married before to George marsh.
I have my great aunts hospital records and I know all I need to about her but on her hospital records it states that her
Father alfred Francis was also in banstead mental  hospital and her siblings james and Louisa were in bexleyheath mental hospital .
Louise was born 1902 and James 1905 southwark.
There are other siblings but they seemed to be ok .
What I cant find are definite deaths for alfred ,James and Louisa, louise ?
Also the death of annie Francis 🤷‍♀️
I've had a good look on various sites but nothing is jumping out at me.
It was a rather tragic family.
Thank you x

Hello
Looks like Louise /Louie died before World War 2.
Only death I can see is at Dartford
Louie F McDonald June 1936 age 34 years 2A 923

James Francis was a patient there in 1939 at DHHC Dartford .I can't see what it was but all the details fit.
He is married  but I can't see a marriage on Ancestry church marriages but there are several possibilities .He did finish his apprenticeship as a printer in case that helps.

Possible death for Annie Francis Southwark Dec 1937 age 74 .1D 58

And there are several possibilities for Alfred .He is in Banstead in 1939 born 1963 .
My guess would be a death
Alfred Francis Surrey Mid Eastern June 1941 age 78 2A 456

But it could very well be he left the hospital and went back to Southwark as Carole  suggests.

Your best bet would be to get the records from the various Hospitals

Thank you all.
I have seen some of the information you've kindly given me but didnt have the confidence to go with it. I have now .
If louise ? Died in Dartford maybe she was still in bexleyheath mental institution at the time of death( the words used at the time). I'll order the certificate after Christmas.
And the same for alfred in banstead.
Getting the hospital records for Jenny was easy but not for alfred,James and louie. There has to be a search for these.
Thank you again x
