I agree with Tassie, she might well have taken a few years off, that is why I often check census with 2 years either side of her supposed year of birth.
Told this story before, one  of my great aunts gave her age as 21 when she got married but she was in fact not quite 15, how did she get away with that,    a huge difference in my opinion not to have been noticed by the registrar,  there  was no need to hurry the marriage either.

Thats funny but know what you mean. One of my great grandfathers had three different ages. Census and both his marriages, and my mother used to say her family were better than my dads more reliable but by the time I found out his mother never got married and he took her surname not the name of his real father which I found out. She had developed dementia, so I couldn't tell her.

Re Probate:  Administration was granted to George Thomas Coombes on 20th October 1959 following Doris's death.

However this was revoked in 1965 in favour of her son as per earlier screen shot.

Thank you for explaining that. really helps.

Do you think it was because they probably never married and the son found out.

Maybe George Thomas was ill or too old to administer Doris's will.

Sorry Fay I was getting mixed up. I see what you mean its the executor/ power of attorney that changed not the proceeds of the will.
