I wonder if Hugh Adams, witness, is father or brother?

On the same page, the marriage of Robert Adams, with father Hugh and witness, Hugh.

There's a bit of confusion here. Tullyhinan like Ballynanny are townlands but are in different civil parishes.

Tullyhinan (in Magherally C P)

Ballynanny (in Annaclone C P)

Looking at the copy of the record is interesting.

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1857/09523/5452055.pdf

They were married on 1/10/1857 in the parish church in Annaclone. They marry in the Irish Church.

On 2/10/1857 a Robert Adams marries Mary Spiers. Robert Adams' father is shown as  Hugh Adams.

Oh I see heywood has already given this reference.  Sorry

I usually like to go by the certificates on Irish Genealogy, rather than a transcription,  and that was what I was referring to......heywood had just linked to them.   :)

A son John Adams was baptised in Annaclone 2nd Presbyterian Church on 30 May 1841 (birth date 14 May 1841) for parents Hugh Adams and Jane 'Jardin' of Ballynafoy townland, which borders Ballynanny. Griffith's Valuation shows a Hugh Adams living in a house in Ballynafoy, the print date for that area was 1863. Note the following 'maybe' for a daughter... Eliza Jane (Adams) Ruddock in the census search forms:
http://censussearchforms.nationalarchives.ie/reels/c19/007246687/007246687_00425.pdf

The marriage to John Ruddick in 1879 and the Ruddock family in 1901:

Thank you all so much! I have both Robert and Eliza in my family tree but gad no idea Eliza was married. Great find!

Is there any way to find out more about Hugh and Jane. My DNA is 80% Italian and 10 % Scottish. Was trying to find the link to Scotland, I was hoping the link would be through either Hugh or Jane.

Does anyone know the origins of the name Jardin?

Thank you all again for this wonderful information.
