Or..if you click on “item enquiry “  you can order a copy.

No idea how much that would be, and remembering it is the silly season here so you might not get a response until near the end of January.

Just to note that the WO reference is to a piece held by the National Archives located in Kew, West London,. It is not the same as the GRO (General Register Office) which deals with the registration of births, marriages and deaths (and also passports) for England and Wales and is located at Southport in Lancashire.

Even having that is fantastic.  Tks.
3months hard labour I should imagine.   I was expecting a much more harsh sentence.
Is that the extent of the information from Fold3; or would there be any more in the regimental records?

It doesn't specify hard labour whereas some others do, so it would seem not.

That is the only information on Fold3.   Generally speaking, for the period in question you will only find service records for men who were discharged to pension, either through illness/injury or time served.

His regimental number was 1390 per the "1841 army index" (prepared from muster books and paylists of 96th Foot 1st Battalion in WO 12/9613 which placed him with the battalion depot in Chatham).

Thanks very much.  Nice to have a really good timeline now for his movements.
I have found this rather lovely engraving of "Chatham Dockyard from Fort Pitt" dated 1830.

His occupation when enlisting in 1839 was a "harness maker".
