Alexander Stewart 1895

Hello,I hope someone can give me some help please,I have posted on here before about trying to find the grave of my great grandad Alexander Stewart,who was born in ballynagard,northern Ireland in December 1895,to William Stewart and Jane Anne,he emigrated to Montreal in I believe 1926,where he died in the 1940s or early 50s,unfortunately I do not have a date for his death,what are the best Canadian government sites for finding out this sort of information please,thank you for any information anyone can give me,kind regards Dean

,he emigrated to Montreal in I believe 1926,

He appears on a passenger list on the Aurania arriving 27 June 1926. (nearest relative - mother, Mrs J STEWART, Culmore, Londonderry. Intended destination/employer - Land Settlement Branch Office, Sharbrooke.

I can't find him on the 1931 census, will keep looking.

Well, I'm guilty of not previously reading the whole of your previous thread (9 pages), though I have now. I see that you already had the passenger list information.

Looking at the 1931 census, there is this entry that looks interesting:
S Alexander STUART, born Ireland, aged 36. Says he immigrated 1924, presbyterian. Married to Beatrice.  (I can't work out from your previous thread - was he Catholic or Protestant?).

There are a few other possibilities, though this seems to be the closest with born Ireland and closest immigration date.

Hello maddy,Alexander was married to Margaret Gray in Belfast,she was born in 1902,died 1965,they had one son Terence leo(my grandad),Alexander had a brother Christie,who also emigrated to Montreal,where he married and died,I am really struggling to find out about the life Alexander had in Montreal,I know he worked on the railways and he was supposed to have been in the RCMP,but I can find no evidence of the latter,he was a special b constable in divis street in Belfast before he emigrated,he was a presbyterian
