It was in May of that year that construction of the 150 acre Olympic Village commenced in Heidelberg.
It would be located 18 or 20 kilometers north of Robert's home.
Perhaps this proximity and his cooking experience and skill was the reason for his employment as a cook for the athletes in 1956.
