Ancestry.com Unwanted Comments Added to My Tree

Is there a way to prevent someone from adding comments to people in my tree?
I have a situation where a fellow ancestry user is adding comments that are clearly incorrect to relatives in my tree.
I would prefer not tov have to make my tree private but misleading and incorrect comments are not helpful.

As far as I can tell, you can delete comments from your  tree  - the three dots top right of the comments display gives the option to delete. 

If you are finding that there are too many of them, have you tried contacting the person who is posting comments and asking them not to?

Make your tree Private.

You will still get hints but it will stop people adding anything.

Also, any images and documents you have in the tree will remain yours.

I’ve had images “borrowed” and reused in the borrower’s tree assigned to the wrong people.

If you know the person, remove their status as "Editor", or "Contributor". Change it to "Guest". They still see everything, but can add, or change nothing.

This happened to me when I first stared Ancestry years ago
I bough my 2nd great grandfather’s death report from the coroner at Carlisle
and paid £5.00 for this and entered in Ancestry
I had no idea people would enter it from them
I contacted this lady and she replied Ancestry was for sharing .I was very hurt at this
I’ve asked her to delete it from her tree and she hasn’t, she is not a blood relative of mine or DNA match . I now put my name if I do enter anything

I will try to delete the comments but i don't think i can.
I am happy to share all information i have, including certificates i purchase.
Incorrect comments that i know a definitely wrong is what i don/t want on my tree. If people have incorrect records for one of my relatives i politely show them the corre3ct records.

I have no personal experience of this problem... I have no unwanted comments on my tree, because no one has ever left a comment on it!

However, this is what it says in Ancestry's Help pages...

Deleting: You can delete your comments and the comments others leave on a tree you own. To delete a comment, click Delete beneath the comment. To undo the deletion, click Undo. Once click the x to hide the "undo" option, you won't be able to reverse the deletion anymore.

I have added comments on a tree that is documentably wrong about people in my family after the tree owner ignored my attempts to message him.
