I think that is a version that is often used for a Muriel.  Everything in that obit seemed to make sense.

Another problem with 'Muriel' is that a Muriel Brick married Clayton Hockaday 19 Oct 1939, he was born 1916 they married at Douro, Peterborough, Ontario. Is it possible that he married twice to 2 Muriel's?
His parents were Harry Thomas Hockaday and Bertha Northey.

Zelda/Eric/Harry and Joyce were the children with first wife.

Muriel the first - only had 4 of them - Z/Eric/H and J

Eric was born in Peterborough, Ontario to Clayton and Muriel (Dolly) Hockaday on September 20, 1943. Passed away 11 May 2019
