Mary Ellen Moore born C1843/1844 Maryland,

Is anyone able to find a birth for Mary or for her father John T Moore born C1808 and the origins of this family to see if they originated from the UK.

I have found her on the 1860 census Event Place   1st Election District, St Mary's, Maryland, United States Page Number   13
Affiliate Publication Number   M653

Mary is with who I presume is her father, siblings and with James Tarlton and other Tarlton siblings.  I think her mother was Monica Tear but she may have been deceased by 1860 as not on this census

A Mary Ellen Moore married a James Pinkney Tarlton on 23/4/1860 at St Mary's Maryland, a Catholic marriage. However this census taken on 1/6/1860 does not show them as being married.

John T Moore is also on the 1850 census, as is a Mary E. Moore, age 6.  All state they were born in St. Mary’s County.

Added:. John is recorded as age 43.  A Mary E is recorded as age 28.  Could the older Mary E be his second wife?

Thank you. Yes perhaps his second wife. Other children noted (in addition to Mary Ellen 17) on the 1860 census were Sarah J 24, Alice 13, Josephine 11, Elizabeth 9 and John 5. I didn't find them in 1850 so many thanks for this info. Perhaps Mary Ellen aged 28 in 1850 had also died by the 1860 census.
