So was Rodney in Zimbabwe for some time?
 I guess this is why I can't find a birth or marriage information about him anywhere in England or South Africa. I found two people that knew him while he was alive in South Africa where he died in 1974 per his probate. I am not going to buy his Will yet although it may have some helpful information on it.

I have no Idea how to research people in Zimbabwe do they have a BMD?
I was told his wife's name was Elsie Mary nee ? and they didn't know if he had kids or not. These people would of been young and Rodney was in his 70's when these people knew him breifly.

According to the UK probate, he died with a will. It may contain the names of wife and any children.

Interesting since Elsie's probate was in Winchester, England even though she did in South Africa. Would that indicate that she was married in Winchester, England??? I guess that can't be proven though.

 for information on the family of "Mrs Vowles". It looks like her maiden name was Blatch and her mother Emily's maiden name was Hewitt, born in Oxford in 1859.
