John Laming/ Lamming/ Lambing
« on: Wednesday 03 January 24 16:47 GMT (UK) »
My wife’s 4 x great grandfather John Lamming 1782- 18/3/1862 died in Lincoln Asylum, Bracebridge on the 18th March 1862. His wife Ann can be found in Epworth in the 1851 and 1861 census living with her daughter , Mary King and her family. I cannot however seem to find John? I presume the Lincoln Asylum appears in the census? ( note the surname is often transcribed with an S rather than an L ie Saming/ Samming)

1861 there is a J.L. aged 82, Brickmaker of Axholme at Bracebridge Heath Asylum.

The Bracebridge Heath Asylum wasn't built until after the 1851 census.  There was however "The Lawn" which opened in 1820 which has the patients listed by initial in the 1851 census, lots of patients for you to search through.   It was in the Lincoln parish of St Martins.
