Ancestry have a number of trees on the Anwyl family.  They might have photos.

The tea planters of Ceylon site (post #13) had identified "W and M Harman and H Anwyl" at Harrow but with minimal information. W Harman was identified as manager 1890-1893 while M Harman and H Anwyl were identified as owners.

The Homewood Mail from India, China and the East, 11 Feb 1889, has Mrs Harman and Miss Anwyl sailing 10 Feb from Marseilles for Colombo aboard the Anadyr.

The same publication, 18 Aug 1884, reporting the marriage has William at "Rungli Ting, Debrughur, Assam, India."

He appears on the 1901 Census as James Swarren,

P.S. Possible death in Liverpool 1905 as James Saweren, age 14.

Where did you find the death, I can't see it on Ancestry.

He died in the Royal Infirmary and was buried in a public grave in Anfield Cemetery on 9 March.
It's disappointing there was no adress given.
I why he was in Liverpool,  if it is our James then it's a sad end.
