Looks like it. It's difficult to find anything more as no age is given and could be an older person.

It might be worth tracing William Harman, JP, of Harrow, Pundaloya, Ceylon

He appears on the 1901 Census as James Swarren, born 1890 in Ceylon.

Frondge (Frondeg), Towyn (Merioneth), Machynlleth
Kate W Anwyl Head Single Female 44 1857 Living on own means London, Middlesex, England
James Swarren Servant Single Male 11 1890 General servant (domestic) -
Elizabeth Williams Servant Single Female 21 1880 General servant (domestic) Corris, Merionethshire, Wales
Elizabeth L Anwyl Sister Single Female 48 1853 Living on own means London, Middlesex, England

P.S. Possible death in Liverpool 1905 as James Saweren, age 14.

So it looks as if, at the age of 9,  he was the  servant of William Harman of Ceylon and was sent over to be the servant of Kate Anwyl .

How the 'Empire' worked!

There is a marriage of William Harman, Tea Planter, in Stanford le Hope, Essex, on 12th August 1884 to Jemima Anwyl, daughter of Evan Anwyl, Gentleman.

She was baptised in London on 30th June 1844, daughter of Evan and Jemima.

In 1871, her parents were at Llugwy, Lower Pennal, Machynlleth.

Only Elizabeth Louisa Anwyl b 1851 London and a servant are there.

In 1861 C. Winifred Anwyl (9) of Brighton Surrey was with her sister Anne Anwyl in Llwynon Pennal Merioneth.

In 1901 Kate W. Anwyl (49) of London, single, living on own means, was living in Frondeg Pennal Merioneth. Present was sister Elizabeth L. Anwyl (48) of London, single, living on her own means. Brother Robert and his wife were living nearby in Llwynon.

In 1911 Catherine Wynnifred Anwyl (59) of Brixton Surrey, single, deaf, of private means, was with her sister Minima Harman and her husband William at 27 Sydney Buildings Bath Somerset.

In 1931 Catherine Winifred Anwyl was one of those granted Administration of the personal effects of her sister Jemima otherwise Minima Harman, widow.

In 1935 Catherine Winifred Anwyl was one of those granted Administration of the personal effects of her sister Annie Anwyl of Llugwy, spinster.
