Mapping software - any suggestions?

A really interesting thread! Gadget I am very impressed with your world map. They did get about a bit didn’t they !

They did. It was mainly my Scottish side that went here, there and everywhere. My Welsh coal miners mainly went to Pennsylvania. 

NN - go for it. I love maps and still have masses of old OS maps.

Actually, what I’d like is a room with paper maps, pins and bits of string on the walls like you see in crime dramas   Call me a dinosaur…

When it comes time to pass on your research who is going to inherit your “wall”?
