Find My Past...how do I copy text from Census Pop Up window
« on: Saturday 06 January 24 17:21 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Find My Past has a handy Pop up window for the individuals on their 1921 Census.
How can I copy the text (as text, not as an image) ?
Can anyone help ?
I'm using Windows 10
Thanks

Does your sub include the 1921 census?

Hi
Yes I have a full subscription.
The pop up box  has just the right amount of info to copy into my family history programme.
The proper transcript page is too large.
The usual Copy/Paste doesn't work because when I try to hover over the pop up, it disappears.
I'm sure there must be a way!

Would the snipping tool work, but that would be an ‘image’ and you mentioned you wanted text?

Hi
No snipping tool doesn't work (and would be an image but even that would help)
As soon as I mouse in, the pop up disappears.
I'm using a windows 10 laptop under Firefox

The pop up appears when I call up an image of the 1921 and hover over the names-
it's the first useful pop up I've seen!

Why do "they" make it so difficult?!

well I
never knew that was there  thank you

only way I can think off to capture image is to use Print screen button then go to paint and press paste  bit long winded though

You can switch off those pop ups using a toggle switch at the top.

I can't find a way of copying the text from the pop up - just the image as others have already noted.

They drove me mad and I turned them off as soon as I could.
