Chinley surname

Anyone got any info regarding origins etc of the surname Chinley.  I can't find anything on a Google search other than a place in Derbyshire.  My Chinley ancestors came from Uttoxeter Staffs

Emery- Meir/ Longton Stoke-on-Trent
Shaw - Birmingham
Leese - Longton/ Fenton/Stoke-on-Trent

It's only about 40 miles from Chinley in Derbyshire to Uttoxeter.
I would have thought quite feasible to think they may have migrated from there at some point in the last 1000 years, when people started to use 'surnames'.

That's not to say there may be some other derivation of course. There were several different reasons people used a surname, but taking the name of the place you came from was one of them.
eg."Hubert de Chinley"
Lane, Burgess: Cheshire. Finney, Rogers, Gilman:Derbys
Cochran, Nicol, Paton, Bruce:Scotland. Bertolle:London
Bainbridge, Christman, Jeffs: Staffs

Ye it just seems so rare. There is next to no others apart from my one ancestor that had it and I have no idea who here parents were  8)

1891 England census has 3 Chinley and 66 Chanley. ;)
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

I don't have access to my tree on ancestry right now but off the top of my head her name was Ellen Chinley she was born in Uttoxeter and her husbands surname was Brassington,  they had a daughter called Emma Brassington. Mid 1800s
