Handwriting deciphering
« on: Monday 08 January 24 22:29 GMT (UK) »
Hello all,
I have inherited a large pencil sketch and cannot decipher the handwriting on the back, the sketch is a of “the assumption of Mary” I believe the text could be French or English but any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to RootsChat!

As far as I can make out, the first one seems to be:

209 Vierge F T B 190.... ['Vierge' = Virgin]

And the second one might be:

T leneuf  to the left, and Haut to the right.

But I'm far from certain. Hopefully, though, my reply will bump this up the board and some of the experts will see it.
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson
