Have you sent for the death certificate? It might give some information.
We aren’t allowed to post 1939 information but if I  recall, the date of the name change was quite late.

If we have the right lady, she appears in Electoral registers with other Humphrey people.

Hi and thank you for that idea regarding her death certificate. I will have a look on the 1939 register. I'm searching for information because her parents (my grandparents) we're both married.

There are published trees for that Humphrey family - one owner was active today apparently.

Added - Susan not mentioned though.
