Huddersfield cemetery location
« on: Tuesday 09 January 24 18:34 GMT (UK) »
I have an ancestor I've been trying to find his final resting place for a while now, and finally I think I've found it!  he was in storthes hall and died in 1911 of typhoid. The record I've found indicates 'huddersfield cemetery" however Huddersfield cemetery isn't a place, does anyone know which cemetery or place is he likely to be today? I thought Edgerton cemetery but I'm not convinced. Any help and knowledge is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Edgerton would be the biggest one, but there's also Lockwood, on the road to Meltham. What's the record you have? Knowing who wrote it, and where they were from, might help in assessing how precise they were trying to be. And do you know of any family members buried in Huddersfield? Or places where any of them might have lived?

If you wanted to give the person's name, I'm sure folks here would do their best to find them - but I do understand that it can be more satisfying to do it yourself, albeit with a few suggestions from others.

Thankyou both for replying! I've got the details together , I do really appreciate the help. His name is Ernest Taylor he was born 8 Jan 1875 and died on 23 November 1911. The record I've found is on familySearch.org and it's collection 'England Deaths and Burials 1538 - 1991. Thanks again!
