Robert Bibby married Ann Ford

It have been told that Robert Bibby married Ann Ford at Cosford in 1837 but Freebmd does not confirm this. Can someone confirm this and provide marriage details, parents etc.
Also, it looks like another Robert Bibby married another Ann Ford in Huddersfield in 1836. Again details please.

I can see the marriage of Robert BIBBY and Ann FORD on 23 May 1836 at Huddersfield. He is of Lindley, she of Huddersfield. He signs, she "x". Witnesses are John WILSON and Joseph R WILKINSON (I think, a bit hard to read).

There is a Robert BIBBY married Sept qtr 1837 at Cosford, but none of the names on the same page are Ann FORD. Possible spouses are Sarah Bines MURRELL, Louisa RICE, Mary WILLS.

There are BIBBY children whose births are registered at Lexden and Winstree with mother's maiden name WILES. They appear to be on the 1841 census with Robert and Mary BIBBY at Great Horksley (all born in county). Not sure if this is the couple why they would marry in Cosford?

Ah, I see a child born before they were married - Simon Hitchcock WILES baptised Boxford 28 Jun 1835, mother - Mary WILES. Simon is with the family in 1841 as Simon BIBBY, and in 1851 as Simon WHILES. Boxford is in the Cosford Registration District.

Thanks Maddy. Robert and Ann can be found in Derbyshire on the 1841 and 1851 census with son Louis/Lewis b Derbyshire. Robert was born in Ireland and may have gone to Derbyshire via Cosford. Freebmd shows only 6 people married in Sept 1837 including Robert Bibby instead of 8. Maybe Ann Ford is one of the missing two.

There does not appear to be 8 people on the register for Cosford in Sept qtr 1837. There are 3 males and 3 females. I really think it most likely given the census and birth registration details noted previously that the Robert BIBBY who married there in 1837 is the one at Great Horksley, born c1814.

I agree with you Maddy. I think my informant was wrong.
So I am now wanting the marriage details of Robert and Ann Ford who married in 1836 in Huddersfield and the marriage details of Robert and Mary Wiles who married in Cosford in 1837
