Looking for parents of Arthur John Hughes. .

I am trying to find the parents of my 2 x great grandfather Arthur John Hughes.
He was born abt 1852 in Tasmania and died in 1916 in Gilgandra NSW.

Do you have a marriage certificate for Arthur? Sometimes they are filled out with quiet a bit of information such as parents etc. Or do you have any other information that confirms his father as Robert?

As giblet says, the marriage certificate for Arthur HUGHES and Emily PEARSE in Sydney (1582/1882) could possibly contain useful information. If it does not include his parent's names, that information is still possible to find if you can ascertain where they were married (which should be on a transcription of the certificate). The New South Wales marriage certificate records his occupation as mariner and his usual residence as Pyrmont. The usual residence of Margaret Farquhar, daughter of Robert Farquhar, was given as Hobart Town, Tasmania. Neither had been married before
