I agree - just trying to see if there is connection to Elizabeth Birkett working there as a housekeeper as Daniel Nichol who died in 1840 had the middle name Birkett

I think the age for Elizabeth may be incorrect on that census, she's 40 in 1871 and 59 in 1881. Birth reg for William
William Birkett june qtr 1860 Whitehaven mmn Birkett
Baptism at Distington 20 May 1860 William son of Elizabeth

Hi all, marriage cert arrived today. Marriage 29th May 1884, Register Office, Whitehaven

Daniel Nichol aged 36 Bachelor(Untrue should be 42) occ Farmer, abode Long Moor Head,Kinniside, Father Samuel Nichol - deceased-occ Labourer.
Mary Glanville aged 23, Spinster, abode LongMoor Head-fther William Glanville-deceased-Iron Miner.
Both signed
Witnesses John Glanville(X his mark) Maria Glanville

What is strange is Daniel is not with parents in 1851!
