Land Registry Form printing in wrong colour
« on: Thursday 11 January 24 11:08 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help please?

On a downloaded Land Registry form, I typed all the details required in black as requested.  When I went to print it the typed details came out as blue and underlined.

On the Before You Start blurb there are the words Personal Information Charter in blue and underlined.  Is this why the typed info came out blue?  Or is there some other reason?

This is where I downloaded the form from:-

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/deceased-joint-proprietor-djp

I chose the MS Word Document 97KB

Not being super technically minded I can't figure out how to give you the one I downloaded on to my computer.  It is filled in with the relevant details so I wouldn't wish to give that link anyway.

I'm getting the same effect on the word doc, its like its changing the text into a link. It is an old version of Word so I don't know if that's the problem?

The pdf version seems to behave as expected though

sorry meant to say if you prefer the Word format then you could print the blank form and go the old fashioned way and write in the boxes

That implies that you have inadvertently entered a hyper-link.
Highlight the offending text, right click on your mouse, then select "Remove hyperlink".

When I go to print the document all the sections that I filled in in black type appear as blue underlined.

I cannot highlight the text when it is in print mode, nothing happens when I try that.  Unless I've missed something on the print page?

well you are doing one better than I did!
I opened the file put my cursor in the first entry field , typed 1 character and it showed on my screen as blue and underlined

The properties of the file show that its been written in version Word 97-2004. I have Word 2023 and it opens in 'compatibility mode' In theory it should be backwards compatible but doesn't appear to very compatible on my machine.

and if I highlight the text and right click there is no option to remove a link.

I seriously doubt its anything you have done

Would you download the file and see if you have the same problem? I really don't think its anything GirlGuide has done.

I've just sorted the problem out by downloading the PDF version.  That has printed correctly in black so I will be able to send that to the Land Registry.

I can only assume that the Word document version is either out of date or corrupted in some way.

Thank you to all who made suggestions etc.
