Unfortunately none of the software provides a subscription to a FH website.

Not quite true, Roots Magic often has 6months free Ancestry subscription when you buy the software but I think you may have just missed the last offer at Christmas.
Please acknowledge when a restorer works on your photos, it can take hours for them to work their magic

Please scan at 300dpi minimum to help save the restorers eyesight.

I use Legacy 9
They have a Free download
From the site;
• Hinting - Legacy 9 searches through billions of records from key websites - FindMyPast, FamilySearch, GenealogyBank, and MyHeritage.
• Stories - Preserve the stories of your ancestors or your own. The new Stories tool lets you record, organize, and print multiple stories for any of your ancestors.
• Hashtags - Create unlimited hashtags to describe your ancestors. Then search for or print a report of everyone who shares that hashtag.
• FindAGrave.com Searching - One-click access to your ancestor's Find A Grave memorial. Create a list of people in your tree with or without Find A Grave IDs.
• And much, much more!

You can upgrade to the deluxe edition.
I have used this for over 30 years.
They also have a Facebook support page.
You need to try a few free ones and then decide what suits you.

Keep it simple.

If your friend doesn't mind keeping a tree online, go with Biggles' suggestions.

If she'd prefer it offline, there's nothing wrong with your program, FTM: it's fairly straightforward and if she needs help, you already use it so can assist. And as time goes on and she can see advantages in having both online and offline trees, FTM integrates seemlessly with ancestry and is, I believe, a better program than Rootsmagic.

Try a few of the free downloads.
See What Suits. They all have good points and bad.
You can always delete the ones you don't want.
