Humansdorp 1850's French community
« on: Friday 12 January 24 03:09 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

I based on research I note that there where a number French immigrants that settled in Humansdorp's in the 1850's. notably the following persons:
Charles Christian Deschamps https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/G8F7-8MB
Auguste Herbin Deschamps https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/K2JH-69X

I seeking anyone that might have information on the origins of the these to individuals and if they where related. My main interest is Charles Christian Deschamps.

Any advise would be appreciated.

I dont have any information but looking at the names of  the kids in each family may assist. Families typically named their children after their grandparents - so the eldest son and 2nd eldest daughter were named after the fathers parents and the eldest daughter and 2nd son were named after the mothers parents. So possibly not brothers but probably related
