Hi Cell,
yes this my family.
EJBR -Edward James  Bruce Russell Gillespie.
He was my Grandfather’s youngest brother. My Grandfather was William Gillespie. Councillor Ballyclare Urban District Council
I believe he was a great athlete. Have a picture of him as a young man.

Very much respect to him  and  all others RIP who served and lost their lives
An awful accident.
According to the papers he was due home for a holiday just a month away
It's  sad reading  he was due home.

Ps it's  very  late  here, and I am off to bed ( I am In Australia, but  I will copy the other articles  I found  (on the Irish newspapers archives site, ) tomorrow about the accident  for you , unless anyone else can do it  in the meantime  for me please .

I have a couple of newspaper clips about EJBR.
I Imagine that in the run up to WW2, there was little column space for this type of incident.
