RAF service record help

Hi,

Finally got my grandfather JH Batten's RAF records from the MOD. However, I was wondering whether anyone knew why his unit in 1941 has been blacked out? It's the only section in the unit that has and he was in service until 1960. I was trying to figure out where he could have been at that time.

The line immediately above the blacked out section mentions Takoradi, more on that in this link though whether that might help shed any light or not I can't say.

Hopefully someone else who is more knowledgeable can suggest an explanation.

Having skimmed through the document still_looking found I can't see anything which would suggest the need to redact operational information, especially after 80 years have elapsed. Given that his personal appraisal also contains redactions, I suspect that what has been hidden is some medical information relating to Cpl Batten personally.
