A valid point - sorry and thank you Cath151!

I took another (unsuccessful) look for the 1871 entry - continues to elude me.

FYI - the 1891 census for their son George spells his surname with an initial "G"
Callear/Gallear and a growing list of (mis)spellings

One day my family history will become Callear!!
