1729 Overseers page

I've attached part of a page from the overseers accounts for Symondsbury, Dorset for Dec 1729.  It's not a good copy but was the best I could get from the LDS website.  The entry is the 4th one down.  It starts Paid [for] ........ for George Cordlon and his family in the time of sickness. 

I just can't make out what the second word is and would be grateful for any help.

I'm not 100% on this but suggest:

paid ^for^ nescaris for George Cordlen and
his famely in the time of Seknes

That is, necessaries.

Did you see that there is a Shroud for Goerge Cordlen in the second line?

ADDED:

Looking again I think that line 4 is also:  Goerge.

I looked at this for a long time and thought I could make out "nescar_s", but couldn't work out what that might be. Well done horselydown.

It certainly is a varied list.
