Don’t expect to get many matches in France arena, DNA testing in France is illegal, it’s only allowed for medical reasons and paternity.

There was a big debate in the UK about DNA.  People are free to do what they want with regard to DNA but the law states that police can only keep a record of DNA if a person had committed a crime.

Some old crimes are now being solved due to criminals having their DNA taken and compared with DNA taken from extremely old  pieces of evidence, such as clothing worn by victims.

My Heritage is notoriously bad for ethnicity estimates - They've got mine totally wrong.
Correct, the CEO even admitted as such :D.

Based on ethnicity results alone you would be led to believe my half sibling and myself have no connection whatsoever. It's only when you see we share over 1800cM it becomes obvious we are related.

I have 162 DNA Cousins who show on My Heritage as being in France.

Do remember also that siblings can have very different Ethnicity Estimates, it is all down to how DNA is inherited.

I accidently deleted part of my comment above which should have started as follows;

There are plenty of youtube uploads featuring siblings, twins and even triplets who have different ethnicity results, these in part illustrate the random nature of ethnicity inheritance.

OH has French family members who had no trouble buying a DNA test. One of them was surprised when I told him I thought they were illegal.  :)

Well, I think possibly with Amazon it is easier, as you may be able to order from Amazon UK or Germany and have it delivered to France. Ditto for MyHeritage and 23andme kits. However I am pretty sure the pre paid labels would only work in their respective countries so you would need a friend to send it on for you.
