FindMyPast Subscription Renewal

I have had a bit of a shock at this years subscription price for Find My Past, the Pro package has gone up to £184.99. They are offering a 15% reduction for auto renew, but that still seems a lot more than I have paid before. Has anyone else renewed recently ?

Mine is due at the end of March and is the same as last year - £169.99, including discount.

In 2022 it was £135.99 for same package (Premium).

Yes, £169.99 in December, the same as the year before. Both supposedly include the 15% auto-renewal discount, but I make £169.99 an 8.1% reduction on £184.99, although it is exactly £15 less.

Ah! I'm on a premium sub with a pre-discount price of £199.99, so that explains it. I thought I'd been robbed for a moment

It's been the same for the last two renewals though. I'm not aware of any way to get any further reductions though, unless renewal happens to coincide with one of their special offers, in which case I once previously cancelled my subscription and purchased the offer as a "new" customer.

Thanks for your replies Gadget & Phil it appears they are offering all sorts of prices to different people. Two other people I know who have subscribed recently had different quotes to the ones mentioned here. Think I will give them a call & see what they offer.

My subscription expired late November after I cancelled auto-renew.  I have just renewed my 12 months Premium subscription with a 40% discount after receiving an e-mail with that offer.  It stated the offer was available until 31st January so might be worth a call to anyone wanting to renew to see if they can also get the same discounted price.

Mine expired 9 Dec 2023. There has been a yellow banner offering me 20% off for a week or two when I logon as I have still being doing some searches, but today it was blue and 40% and I paid.

Come back today and get 40% off! Exclusive to lapsed customers.
Was available on all selections monthly, 3 monthly, or annually.
12-month subscription: Plus £81. Pro £111. Premium £120 (instead of £200), all less a penny.
I didn't get an email, maybe I would have.

If you don't auto-renew there is a 30 day grace period when can still avail of the 15% standard offer eg if happy to take a short break and catch up on other things. T&C. 4. Subscriptions.
"If you allow your 12-month Subscription to lapse but then renew it within 30 days of lapse, you will still receive the Discount."
The 20% banner offer came after that then the 40%. Whether that happens always or is co-incidental I don't know.

Good to hear others have also renewed with the 40% discount offer.  I have never auto-renewed my subscription, always cancelling the option, and find by waiting over the usual 30 days then a better deal is offered to me... I've never paid their full advertised prices since my original subscription a good few years ago, which back then was a half-price offer!  This subscription discount matches others I've had in previous years.  It works well for me as I can find plenty to keep me busy until that better offer comes along.  I may have received their recent offer, via e-mail, as I had not logged into FindMyPast for a while since my sub expired on 27th November.
