Manchester regiment 4th battalion

Hi I'm looking for any info on a lieutenant L L Steele lve found he was in the wiltsure reg, then moved to Manchester about 1901,,,
I think he may have been retired not long after,, lm just trying to find out if he may have re enlisted at the start of ww1,,or
 any photos that may have that may have this regiment,, if l have the right man and regiment he was in sussex 1914

Do you mean Lieutenant Colonel L L Steele? He moved from the Wiltshire Regiment to command 4th Battalion, Manchester Regiment in 1900.

Hi l hoping it's the same man as ln a news cutting,, it may help me on my search,, it was a news cutting from 1914 about a Manchester battalion arriving in balcombe Sussex,, l have been in touch with the Manchester museum in Ashton but cannot find anything,,, it gives me two names a captain Steel and a Sgt mulligan arriving 12th March 1914,, to guard the railways,,, l know mulligan guarded the railways from my family, but thought l would try another handle and search the captain Steel,, l would like to find a photo of the regiment,, l have ashed this Web page before,, as for the news cutting in my experiance many mistakes were made,, so l just trying a different approach   thanks eda

Colonel LL Steele retired in 1904 so it won't have been him.

There seems to be another L L Steele, a Captain in the Army Veterinary Corps, age 33 in 1918.
