Leicestershire marriage strays
« on: Monday 22 January 24 01:52 GMT (UK) »
Hello.
Would anyone be able to look up the marriage strays to find if there's a John Napp/Knapp who married an Elizabeth Gilby in 1772 in Weldon, Northants? I believe the groom is a John Knapp born 1748/9 in Knossington, Leics.
Thank you!
Sarah.

Thanks, Neale!
I'm trying to find out if my John Knapp is the one from Knossington. I was hoping he'd be on a strays list or even a settlement certificate as he moved to Weldon in Northants where he married. He's listed as a servant living in Little Weldon on the 1771 Northamptonshire militia list, so had moved there before his marriage. Family seems to have been quite poor, so the overseers of the poor might be involved with the family in some way.
Sarah.
