MADELINE KEARNS (CHARLES?)
« on: Monday 22 January 24 23:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi Everyone
I am trying to find any information on the above who gave birth to a boy ALEXANDER GEORGE CHARLES 2 July 1904 at the Home of Hope, Newtown.

I have called the contact there a couple of times for any details they may have and I am at the moment waiting a response.

I thought that someone maybe able to offer me some advice on finding any relevant details on this lady.

From the birth certificate of Alexander George CHARLES it states:-

Born 2 JUL 1904, HOME OF HOPE STANELY STREET NEWTOWN
Father HUBERT GAVIN CHARLES a Weaver b Parramatta NSW 28
Marriage 25 MAY 1900
Place Parramatta NSW
Previous Issue ELIZABETH M. 2 Years, Living, None deceased
Mother MADELINE KEARNS age 24 b Parramatta NSW
Informant MADELINE CHARLES, MOTHER HOME OF HOPE

Firstly I can find no Birth of Death for the Elizabeth M. mentioned??? Under either name OR just leaving the surname blank.

There is NO marriage to Hubert Gavin Charles (1875-1905) as HE is my Great Grandfather and he was married to my Great Grandmother Ada Victoria Kearns in 1901 in Parramatta.

To add to the story My Grandfather is ALEXANDER GEORGE CHARLES born to Hubert and Ada

ALEXANDER GEORGE CHARLES b 10th September 1901 Short Street Parramatta to HUBERT GAVIN CHARLES, a Weaver Woollen Mills age 26 b Parramatta.  Married to Ada V KEARNS 8th of April 1901 Granville NSW.

The Random ALEXANDER GEORGE CHARLES b 2 July 1904 at the Home of Hope, Stanley St Newtown to HUBERT GAVIN CHARLES occupation Weaver age 28 b Parramatta. Mother MADELINE KEARNS married 25th May 1900.

Very curious as to why TWO Kearns women have children to the same man!!! Always something crazy with my family.  Thought someone could suggest how to find more information on this MADELINE (Keran's/Kearns) please.  Kindest regards Dianna

Hi Sue yes and it is driving me nuts!  LOL  I've added a quick snippet here re the family.  Ada was born in O'connell/Bathurst NSW.  Looks like three of the siblings were registered in Bathurst NSW. Many thanks Dianna
