What did he name his children?
Did they remain in Whitstable?
What was his occupation?

Thanks for the reply.

The only baptism ive managed to find is that of my 5xg grandfather Richard Turner, written as Richd,on March 13th 1741 Whitstable.Im not sure what they did for a living, but it was probably something to do with the sea.He married Mary Miles in Whitstable in 1763.Their g grandson born in Whitstable in 1794 is shown on various census returns as a mariner, oyster dredger and fisherman.

There is a Richard Turner Baptised 6 Feb 1706 at St Mary Northgate Canterbury .Son of Thomas and Deborah.
Could fit the time frame if Deborah's later in your tree.

Many thanks for this.

Ive had a quick look.I can see several baptisms on Ancestry for Thomas and Deborahs children, but cant find Richard. He does sound like a strong possibility,as Canterbury is only a few miles from Whitstable. Also,i cant find a marriage for a Thomas and Deborah.I will have a proper look in the morning.

I still cant find the baptism of Richard,to Thomas and Deborah.Ive managed to find Alice,Sarah,Catherine,Thomas and Ann,between 1703 and 1714,but cant see Richard.
Ive also found Thomas marriage to Deborah Foster in Canterbury in 1703.
Its difficult to know if this could be Richards family.Canterbury is very near to Whitstable, but i can find no evidence linking any of these to it.I cant find a likely death entry for Thomas or Deborah,so i dont know where they ended up.
Any more help would be greatly appreciated.
