He was born 1862 Cransley

If his parents were William & Elizabeth (nee Langley) he is on the 1861 census aged 2 so born 1858

Births Sep 1858
Wykes    William         Kettering    3b   134

Did he marry Elizabeth Tomalin in 1879?

If so - they are together in 1911

The William Wykes in the Asylum is shown as single - no birthplace shown

Northampton Mercury, 5 Sep 1919
RE-OPENED AS AN ASYLUM. Berrywood Asylum, after its long occupation as a military hospital, was re-opened on Monday for its original purpose.

If you look at the image of the lunacy register entry for William on Ancestry there's another word written under Berrywood and bracketed with it. Looks like Nott...?  Ive looked at some other Berrywood patients on the register who died in early 1919 and they have similar additions such as Derby Boro and Leic Boro. I guess the patients were moved out to a range of nearby hospitals when Berrywood was appropriated for war use
