Mother's birth

KENYON, MAGGIE       mmn ARNFIELD
GRO Reference: 1891  J Quarter in HAYFIELD  Volume 07B  Page 865

Possible marriage

Marriages Jun 1911

Kenyon    Maggie        Barton I.    8c   1171
McDonald    Thomas J        Barton I.    8c   1171

SS

added, easily found with parents and siblings in 1891/1901 census as Maggie Kenyon

I am a bit of a novice at this. McDonald is not McDonnell????
I lived in Ardwick, Manchester in the early 1960s as a small child and much travelling of the world has now led me to want to know more about my roots. Carter, Beckwith, Connolly, Heron and Kelly are all names that form part of my family tree.

Maggie Kenyon was born Hayfield 1891. Her mother's maiden name was Arnfield.

Maggie Kenyon then possibly married Thomas McDonald in 1911. Should surname be McDonnell??

McDonnell should be the surname but we had first name Ronald originally and that became Robert so who knows......

Thanks,
Writing is not entirely clear but it looks like McDonnell.

His wife Edith (Collins) married a Frederick Rolfe in 1934 before she later married McDonnell. Cant find Fredericks death but the 1939 Register has her name changed from Rolfe to McDonnell.

There wasn't a census in 1939.
Were you looking at the 1939 National Register, by any chance?

Sorry, the 1939 Register. In my delight at finally cracking this mystery man I had written the wrong thing .......

This is info only, and needs fully checking out.

IF Robert James McDonnell is the correct man you are looking for then the birth registration posted records his father as Thomas James McDonnell.

Strange, if this is his father then he appears in 1921 census born 1891 as Thomas James McDonald

The 1921 census for Robert James as you have said records mother Margaret as the daughter of Margaret Chandler.

In the 1911 census alleged mother Margaret Chandler has a Tom McDonald as a lodger.
