Ancestry and FindMyPast do not ask for 2 factor authentication for normal searching and family tree use.

I have found that I am continually having to log back into familysearch, ancestry, FindMyPast and even rootschat has its moments
Census information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Normally OK with Ancestry but have log in almost every time for FindMyPast  :(

I also liked to stay logged in on FindMyPast as it is easier for me rather than having to keep signing in. I wonder if these websites tightening of security are for our benefit or for theirs, so they do not get as many complaints to have to deal with.

It may add a few seconds' work, but I try to log out of anything at the end of every session.  It has always been good practice, and I like to believe it makes hacking a little harder.  I may be wrong, of course - maybe a nerd or geek might comment ?  ;D
