Missing Death Registration?
« on: Saturday 27 January 24 14:54 GMT (UK) »
Daniel McKay died 31 March 1926 in Bootle
But I can't find the GRO Death Index under Bootle or West Derby or Liverpool or anywhere?
Help Please.

Could it be an error made at the time and the death date should have been 1927, like the probate date? If so, there is a GRO death entry Apr-Jun 1927 in West Derby Volume 08B  Page 481, for a Daniel McKay, age 75

I wondered why probate never mentioned his wife Janet Scott McKay who seems to have died jq 1926,after his 31.3.1926 alleged death, transcript error makes perfect sense.

Even if she were still alive, the probate register only names executors or administrators, who may not be the beneficiaries. Often the executor is a solicitor or a bank; or someone who's prepared to do the work for the family.

One friend challenged me for suggesting the Probate was a typing error and that the Death Registration didn't have to be right away in June Quarter 1926 and could have been an Inquest that delayed Death Registration till June Quarter 1927 and 31 March 1926 was Correct Date of Death per Probate and only actual Certificate would settle it.
But my Cousin in Florida heard of my plight and found this in UK Newspapers
