Ellen Kate NELSON - missing after 1891

Ellen Kate NELSON was born 1867 in Brixton.

In 1888 she married James Charles MENZIES

They are together in the 1891 census living at 12, Commodore Street, Mile End Old Town.

I have found no children born to the couple.

In 1901 it looks like James is living with a lady called Annie and their young daughter, also named Annie, at 4, Repton Street, Limehouse.  I can't see a marriage for them.

I can find no trace of Ellen after 1891.  I haven't found a death nor a remarriage.  Is she living with someone?

I believe that is a different Ellen.

The James Charles MENZIES of 101 Ernest St died in 1933 aged 65 according to the burial register. Is this the same James Charles, born c1868?

I think it is although the dob has been stretched.
The 1915 marriage would confirm if his father is Archibald (as in the marriage ot Ellen Kate).

I cannot see Ellen Kate anywhere.  ☹️

"Young Annie"  is aged 0.  The only FreeBMD matching birth in London is:

Menzies, Annie Elizabeth  Stepney 1c 411  MarQ 1901

In the GRO index the mmn is Feeney.  There are other Menzies/Feeney births after 1901 in London, but not before, and no Menzies/Feeney marriage anywhere (assuming correct spellings).

I did wonder about that Charles Nelson but the birthplace is wrong (should be Croydon) and when Ellen's mother died in 1889 she was a widow.

The most likely birth for Annie Menzies gives her mother's name as Feeney. (edit just seen your post MollyC)

Ellen is a puzzle.
