I think Indian gold is pure 24 carat, so quite a bit softer than 22,18 ,9.

Welsh gold is a nice “ rose “ colour .

If I see one more book described as 'unputdownable' I think I'll scream! >:(

There are numerous books on Amazon that are described in this way. It's not the opinion that bothers me, it's the all too frequent use of the word. Is it even a proper word? Sounds to me like another of these trendy made up ones.

Yes Roobarb, a composite word which means it  is just some strung together.
Not in any dictionary I have .
I don’t like being told I will like something !
Hosts telling me” You will like this” when they bring food to the table —— is it an order or a prediction?

I make up words sometimes,  having had  a tooth out yesterday I am going gently on my food, so this morning  I had sloppyabix as I called it, you can decide what I had to eat.

I don't take much notice of the blurbs but I do find the reviews by readers valuable .

Yes, me too Roobarb - although sometimes it’s hard to tell if they are genuine or not… can be a bit gushy or over the top so I read on recommendation from friends or if it’s an author I like… saying that I’ve just finished The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O’Farrell which I thoroughly enjoyed as I did her previous book Hamnet…

BTW what do you think of the latest Portrait Artist of the Year… I do sometimes wonder if they pick people just to be alternative as I find it hard to get my head round some of their choices!

I also found the various comments about the shades of gold from different parts of the world interesting.. I have some Ethiopian good which I’d quite bright in comparison to ours.

Hope everyone has a nice w/end ours will be watching the Six Nations Rugby starting with Ireland v France!

Do you mean Landscape Artist Caroline? I haven't yet watched this week's episode but I had lunch with a friend yesterday and she dropped a clanger by mentioning that she'd thought I would be going mad about the winner, so when I watch it I don't think it'll be difficult for me to guess who the winner is. That was after I'd told her I hadn't yet watched it, grrrr!!  >:(
I do agree that they seem to disapprove of anything traditional and pick something just because it's a bit off the wall.

Must say though, the commission piece painted by the Portrait Artist winner actually moved me to tears, it was just so beautiful.
