I will need to check the marriage cert for Ada to her 2nd husband. (I don't have a copy of it yet).

Do let us know if you get Ada’s second marriage certificate. It’s a shame it comes under Sheppey and not Medway where all their records are online and free.
I will let you know. Everyone has been very helpful. The Pembroke II was a training ship. Shame it's Sheppey as I will have to order a pdf copy, and as I live abroad it will take about 10 days. Ada had a difficult life by the sound of it as her 2nd husband also died in 1915
So whatever happened to her 1st husband will remain a mystery.
