Possibly, because Ewan was baptised at Michaelstone-y-Fedw, Ann Jones was baptised at Bassaleg in 1776, with father David?

No trace of Ann 1851 census.

These two deaths at Abergavenny do not appear to be correct.

ROBERTS, ANN       59
GRO Reference: 1848  M Quarter in ABERGAVENNY  Volume 26  Page 41

ROBERTS, ANN       58
GRO Reference: 1848  D Quarter in ABERGAVENNY  Volume 26  Page 27

This is the only death I can find for Ann in the County anywhere near the age Ann was thought to be?

ROBERTS, ANN       68
GRO Reference: 1843  S Quarter in MONMOUTH  Volume 26  Page 50

Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

Many thanks for this information.

The Monmouth death registration would seem to be very plausible. It would be soon after the children emigrated.

The reason for the difference in actual date of burial is the way the parish register is written, Ann's is the final entry, it's a bit of a scrawl, it could be either, even the age has got an ink blob over the 8.

Perhaps best to look at how the vicar writes December and September higher up the page. He ends both with an "r", So I think that 18th seems more likely, although, as you say, the last entry on the page is rather a mess, so we cannot be certain.

I'd agree with 18th, have a look at the how the year is written in the margin of the register.
