Herbert York originally went to South Africa before 1928 (going back 1936 as found by fiddlerclass)

He arrives London  from Rhodesia 27 December 1928 he is aged 39 -Sheet Metal Worker
Ship Dunluce Castle.

His dob possibly 31 May 1899.

Lewis York married Annie Dorothy Margarete Wright 14 September 1912 had a son Horace Lewis on 21 December 1914
Ref: WWI enlistment record on ancestry - he was discharged 1919.

DOB 30 April 1887  he died 1972.

Bap. 29 March 1901 of Couthurst Street, Greenwich, at Holy Trinity Lambeth.

Note Herbert was bap. the same day

The father Robert York died 24 September 1924 Ref: Probate Index
Address  22 Couthurst Street. admin to widow Ann York.

Ann York died 12 December 1936 at 22 Couthurst Street. Ref Probate Index, admin to son Lewis York.

Lewis was a solicitors clerk so it makes sense.

Robert and Ann married 26 December 1864

Married Geoffrey Beswetherick, born 1921 in England and died 1991 in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Son, Alan Geoffrey, born 3 March 1946 in Taunton and died 27 January 2011 in Carshalton Surrey.


They Beswetherick’s travelled with their two children aboard ship Llangibby Castle on 2 Oct 1951
