Douglas Haig Sword (deceased) Elusive records
« on: Thursday 01 February 24 18:51 GMT (UK) »
I am having difficulty finding any records for a Douglas Haig Sword; Born 15 May 1919 in Dundee, Scotland; died 26 September 2014.
Father: Thomas Cummings Sword
Mother: Alexina Sword
MMN: TOSH

I can find records for Douglas' siblings but have come up against a brick wall for him.
Douglas married Evelyn Frances Ramsay Milne (born: 28 April 1920, dies: 1 December 2009.

It maybe because I'm not used to researching Scottish families but I've found his siblings-mystery
Any help/advice welcome
Yours frustratedly

Yes thank you- much appreciated! where did you find those records? I'm using Ancestry/MyHeritage and FindMyPast and am really struggling.

If he was born and lived in Scotland you will likely only find info here

https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

It is a pay to view or purchase for records - but index is free to search

Could this be him? ancestry doesn't give any results for me until I leave out his middle name.
This image is very blurry and I can't make out his profession.

There are several travel documents around that time. His profession is 'foreman' on one of them (the blurry one), and welder on another.

The New York arriving record 10 Jan 1950, Queen Mary, has
Sword, Douglas, H., 30, M,
destination Astral Industries Inc. Rockleigh NJ.
married
12 pieces of baggage
