Wednesday 14 June 1950: Liverpool Echo
This fits with one of the birth registrations that I deleted; registered Ormskirk

Quote
HIS WIFE'S ACTION
Saved Man From Longer Sentence
"But for the action of your wife in taking the bicycle to the police station the sentence would have been more." said Mr. C. M. Hesford, chairman of the Ormskirk Bench, today, when he gaoled for one month Stanley Arnold North of No. 8 Families Camp, Deyes Lane, Maghull. North pleaded guilty to stealing the bicycle, the property of Dorothy Winifred Topping, of The Rook, Maghull. It was stated the machine was taken from the porch of Maghull Secondary Modern School in Deyes Lane on the evening of January 31. On June 4, North's wife called at Maghull Police Station and returned the bicycle. North, when cautioned, said: "I found the cycle in a field near the footpath through the camp to Brook Road."

There are newspaper reports from early 1952 involving offences against his own children. This could be why he was in prison in 1955.

They are listed on Findmypast and Ancestry but we can't name them because of privacy.

Although you need a subscription, you might be able view the names in the index without a subscription.

P.S. Just checked FreeBMD and they are all there 1939-1956
