Thompson's Fish & Chip shop Sunnyside NR Crook
« on: Saturday 03 February 24 11:28 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
Does anyone have any memories of Billy Thompson's fish shop or the family. He was actually John William Thompson, but known in the family as Billy, born 1891 in BP Auckland. He died in 1960. I think the photo below must date from around the early 1930's and is probably his wife Margaret ne้ Gray and their daughter Mabel b. 1918. Mabel married a Walter Scott. There were also 2 sons. Robert Henry Thompson had a garage business and William Thompson in 1939 was an apprentice tailor. The Thompsons were living in 53 Front Street Sunnyside in 1939 and 14 Alma Terrace Crook by 1960.
