New Ancestry Stories interface

Ancestry have changed their Stories interface

Fine. They've changed so much recently, that's no surprise.

But when I try and use the new interface, I can paste the story in OK, but saving it is another matter. It's fine if I try on Edge or my iPad Safari, but not on Firefox (which I always use) - the Save and Cancel buttons at the bottom of the Edit panel are missing. Once I have the Story in place, I can edit it OK, the buttons are there. I think there's a small corner of the Cancel button on the top right corner, but no sign anywhere of Save.

I have tried clearing cache and cookies, and removing my extensions, as per their advice page. Nothing doing.

If I contact Ancestry, they are going to say it's my browser.

Is this happening to anyone else? If not, what do I try next?

Have you tried reducing the size of the text (Control-Minus)?

I find that many things disappear off the bottom of boxes, or even the screen, because the coders can't imagine anyone working with a screen less than 72 inches wide, and would be incapable of doing the arithmetic needed to work out whether a scroll bar was required.

Shrinking everything in the window gives the website similar proportions to the developers' machines.

They used to have an email address (support@ancestry.co.uk) but they have stopped answering that. Apparently the only text-based contact is now through the minimal form which is reached ONLY after going through their "frequently asked questions", none of which are EVER appropriate.

Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.

Census information is Crown Copyright. See www.nationalarchives.gov.uk for details.

Go into the Support section and use the Ask Lief bot, with a bit of luck you will eventually get to “chat” with a sort of live person.

Got it! I have the site set to 110% because of sight issues. It's never been a problem up till now, but clearly I'm going to have to reduce the size on that page.  :(
