Hi, for Savage family of Maine, I think I have a difficult line to search.  I can find Levi Savage at ancestry and familysearch.org, and I can trace his wife's Hannah Russel's lineage, but I find no records going back for Levi.  He was born in 1802.  And searching through various online sites, I have not found a trace of any records for Levi Savage of Kennebec.
I have noticed a Savage marriage in that area, 1798, and it was so different, Jephtha from the book of Judges chapters 11-12, married to Rachel in 1798 in Augusta (source:  Vital Records Augusta Maine to Year 1892 volume 1), but it is only a guess that they could have been parents of Levi born in 1802.

Does anyone with Savage family ancestry in Maine from late 1700s and early 1800's have ancestry information for Levi Savage, father of Isaac (born 1826), Alonzo (born 1828),  Rodolphus Chessman (born 1830), George Washington Savage (born 1834), Alfred Delusa (born 1835), Rosannah (born 1838, married Henry Parker), Sarah Jane (born 1838, married Francois B. Rancourt), and Nathan Wesley (born 1842 and lived the longest until 1919)?

Haven't found him yet. here is some information you might not have.
exact dates for births of the children and a few children you don't have:

* Levi Savage (3 June 1802 - )
  + Hannah Russell
married at Sidney, Maine, by Rev Asa Wilbur on August 24, 1825
    both of Sidney when marrying
    - Isaac Savage (19 October 1826 )
    - Levi Alonzo Savage (2 May 1828 - )
    - William Jarvis Savage (5 December 1830 - 11 December 1850)
    - Phoebe Ann Savage (10 May 1832 - 1 January 1833)
    - Rodolphus Chessman Savage (15 October 1833 - )
    - George Washington Savage (12 August 1834 - )
    - Alfred Delusa Savage (13 December 1835 - )
    - Rosanna Savage (6 February 1838 - )
    - Sarah Jane Savage (11 July 1839 - )
    - Louisa Savage (11 July 1839 - 25 November 1841)
    - Nathan Wesley Savage (15 May 1842 -  )

those came from Augusta Vital Records, Volume 1, 1780 to 1885
- his family is on image 177 in the set. which is the original page 135 of Augusta Vital Records, Births and Deaths Volume 1, 1780 to 1885
  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-99FP-F926-X?i=176

wikitree had a lot of that as well:
  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Savage-1741

They were both of Sidney when marrying
https://archives.mainegenealogy.net/2020/12/marriages-by-rev-asa-wilbur-of-sidney.html

--------------------
- 1820 Census images, Kennebec County
Sidney original page 576, image 114 in the set
there are no Savage families in Sidney in 1820
  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GYBS-S98D?view=index&action=view

So no Savages in Sidney in 1820. not good for the researcher.

-----------
If Levi was born in Augusta (source?) the next step might be to eliminate as many of the Savage households in Augusta in 1810 and 1820. Which of them did not have a male age age 8 in 1810 and 18 in 1820?

the ones familysearch found in 1820, for a start:
1820 Census, Savage heads of households in Augusta
  https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?f.collectionId=1803955&q.anyDate.from=1820&q.anyDate.to=1820&q.anyPlace=Augusta%2C%20Kennebec%2C%20Maine%2C%20United%20States&q.surname=savage

browse the images themselves, in case they missed someone.
1820 images, original index page is image 11 in the set
Augusta starts on 558, Augusta east side of river starts on 563
  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GYBS-SMKC?view=index&action=view

-----
In 1820 there was a Levi Savage in Augusta, age 25 to 44 if I remember right, but he only had a young male in the family, so he is not Levi's father.

-----
Desperation move: look for family histories of the various Savage families in New England and see if any of them mention Levi.

-----
What is the source for his birthplace?

Have you checked here yet? a Levi Savage birth 3 June 1802 in Augusta records-
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FW1V-6JN

You'll have to check through images for the correct page but might given details of his parents.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

The only reference I found to Levi Savage in that set of images is the record of his children's births. Along with that they recorded his birth date, his wife's, and the date and place of their marriage. Which was nice of them. But no birth places were given for the parents.  All the children were said to be born in Augusta, and Levi is there by 1830, so that seems to be correct.

Most of the families' records did not include the parents' births. One that did so mentioned that the man was born elsewhere (I forget where.) So, I don't think Levi was necessarily born in Augusta just because that is where his family is recorded.

The way people were moving around in New England at that time he could have been born anywhere, but more likely in Maine, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts.

edited: On second thought, his father might have moved from his parents' location when starting the family, but might have stayed in one place after that, putting Levi's birth in the Augusta area.

Lots of "mights" in that sentence. Still looking.

So no Savages in Sidney in 1820. not good for the researcher.
There are no Savages in Sidney, Maine, in 1800.
  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GR8K-9G33?wc=3V1X-VZ4%3A1585148803%2C1585149971%2C1585149991&cc=1804228

The only Savage household in Sidney in 1810 was that of John Savage. He had one child, a daughter under 10.

So Levi was probably not born there.
He might have been "of Sidney" just long enough to get married.
