It is difficult to read - this is all I can makeout so far

? end
Mason (Journeyman)
Agnes McEw?n
?
deceased

Is the son Thomas' surname McEWAN or McEWEN?

Do you have him on the census showing a place of birth?

Under Agnes McEwan's name could it read

and 1851

Balgair, Balfron, Wester Stirlingshire
Thomas   McEwan1786   Farmer (of 9 acres employing 2 labourers) Balfron
Ann   McEwan Wife   1781   Farmer's wife   Killearn, Stirlingshire

        D[o/a]rrans
Mason (Journeyman)
Agnes McEwen
Small Farmer
Deceased

It seems he was illegitimate, so worth checking the minutes of the Kirk Session for the parish he was born. The father's name would be given there in full.

Dorrans
Mason (Journeyman)
Agnes McEwen
Small farmer
Deceased

or something along those lines.

Edit: posted before I'd seen GR2's very similar interpretation.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Here's the guilty party in 1851!

https://www.freecen.org.uk/search_records/5905797de9379091b14c6251/james-dorans-1851-stirlingshire-balfron-1814-?locale=en

If that's him there's a public tree on Anc*y with d/c he died 1873 occ Mason (journeyman)

You may have already come across it, but if not, you may find that the "Gargunnock Village History" website http://www.gargunnockvillagehistory.co.uk makes interesting reading.
